The Still Mind

Our world observed from stillness

The Still Mind is up for SALE!

The Still Mind has been a great experience for me, when I started back in 2013. I’ve made many posts and met many interesting people through this blog, but as time and life roles on, so have I. I’m no longer able to dedicate my time to the blog, and rather than have it sit idle, festering from lack of care, I’m deciding to pass the torch to someone else who is willing to receive it.

Daily traffic

Over these past years, The Still Mind has been visited 69,423 times, and garners daily traffic, despite me not having posted for a few years. I can only imagine where someone who has the desire and time to dedicate to the blog could take it. It’s definitely an investment worth the time and money. The Still Mind could be something big, placed in the right hands.

I would be giving you the rights to The Still Mind, and I will have no more input (unless you would want it). Additionally, since the blog does have a Facebook page associated with it, I would transfer ownership of the Facebook page to the new owner, as well.

For any inquiries/pricing, feel free to contact me at garrettspub@gmail.com, you can also find me on WhatsApp: +502 5424 9277.

The Still Mind

As much as we use the substance everyday, and know how integral to life it is, water is still not completely understood. Precisely why there are a trove of scientists all over the planet running this seemingly simple liquid through a myriad of tests.

Konstantin Korotkov, a Russian scientist, who has conducted many experiments involving the energetic emissions of organisms, has found that the movement of water helps to structure the molecules.

Konstantin Korotkov

“When we apply a strong movement to water, we dissolve water molecules, and they create active radicals” (these are not to be confused with “free radicals”, which are harmful to the body). Essentially, the jostling of the water causes the water molecules to interact and pair with the minerals and the smallest energetic constituents in the water, more efficiently and structure it. This is important because “our blood is a structured liquid, our liquids in our…

The System Bio-Electrique

We are alive because of energy, and everything that we experience in our collective reality is energy. The word comes from and is related to the green singularity in the center of the torus field that underlies the basic structure of this realm.

(g-r-e-e-n -> e-n-e-r-g-y [Ancient greek: En – “within”; ergon – “work” -> en-ergon – “internal work”. An anagram of ergon is “gre,” thus provides the “g-r-e” of “green,” followed by “en”, or “GREEN” altogether.]) The TRUE etymology of words is a field that won’t be covered here, but is worth studying, because language is more than what we think it is.

The Mind and Health

buddhist monk in meditation pose over black background

Why is a clear and balanced mind so important? How do you achieve a clear and balanced mind?
Well, firstly, the importance lies in the mind’s command over the entire body. Before you do anything, you think about it first, then your mind (brain) allocates the bio-electrical resources to the appropriate muscles, thus they move, and move you in the direction you want to go.

This is what one’s life is all about. Your mind moving you to do what you want to do. The efficiency of this system is determined by the ability or inability of energy to move to where it needs to go. If the energy can flow freely, the system works fine. But if the energy is obstructed, the system can not operate efficiently. Thus inefficient energy movement births sickness, with symptoms that are treated with medicines. However, medications do not deal with the root cause which is an energy inefficiency, but rather deal with the elimination of the “complaint”.

What is energy inefficiency in the body? It is stuck and blocked emotional energy. So, how exactly Continue reading

A Case for the Chakras – Part 1

We have all no doubt heard and read about Chakras, the system of swirling light at key points along the central line of the body. Prominent scientists at the fringes of the main stream have been studying and making breakthroughs in this field, most notably Dr. Konstantin Korotkov, and Dr. Hiroshi Motoyama (website).

A question that has plagued the spiritual community ever since 1500-500 BC (Sacred Centers) when the Vedas were written, up until today is whether these spinning wheels of light really exist.

Dr. Konstantin Korotkov, Russian professor of Physics of St. Petersburg Federal Research University, developed a system for measuring the energetic state of the body via technology based on Kirlian photography. It is called Bio-Well, a pairing of camera and software which gathers energetic information from the body using Korotkov’s Gas Discharge Visualization (GDV) technology. Output on the screen via the accompanying software, is a diagram that displays the state of the Chakras of body.

Bio-Well is based on the fact that there exists an energy system about the body, and the signature of which is picked up by the GDV camera, and is interpreted and mapped out to give a visualization of the energetic state of the body and the the Chakra system.

Science is more and more catching up to the claim of the existence of Chakras, with technology based on them to act as a feedback tool of sorts. Once one can see what there energy body is doing visually, then steps to correct any imbalances can be taken.

In his book Theories of the Chakras, Dr. Hiroshi Motoyama gives a highly detailed and in-depth description of the Continue reading

Forget Your Guilty Mind

To err is human. Indeed, living in this world can present us with situations in our lives which we feel as though we could have acted differently–an altercation with a friend, family member or colleague where words were exchanged which upon reflection afterwards, filled your being with the unsettling, culpable feeling we know as guilt.

Guilt, and negative emotions in general, can weigh on the mind to the point of affecting health of the body. In this world of stress and expensive medicine, maintaining command of your emotional mind is an important component in the maintenance of inner peace, and in turn, health.

It is something that we all experience, yet continue to bring upon ourselves over and over again. What are the origins of this feeling? And how do we keep guilt from consuming us to the point where we can’t live anymore?

Origins

“I hate you!” she said, pushing him back against the wall. “Get away from me! You’re so stupid!” A set of words and actions that emerged automatically the instant her blood boiled from hearing something that flew in the face of her normal expectations. There are only two emotions, love and fear, with all others being variations of the two, respectively. She was enveloped in the realm of fear, erupting forth from her reptilian brain.
When we react without conscious thought, that is the domain of the survival aspect of the brain–the reptilian brain, or R-complex. You can identify actions and feelings originating from the reptilian brain via their automatic, fear-ridden expression, followed by guilt and embarrassment due to the fact that you acted without thinking, and said and did things you now regret. When conscious thought is allowed to return, the guilt and remorse comes along with it. Think how many times we have said or had someone say to us “you really weren’t yourself. You were acting like a totally different person.” This is because the brain was under different command for a spell.

The reptilian brain is the oldest part of the brain, nestled at the top of the spinal cord in the center of the brain, with its function principally oriented for survival. In this capacity, it hasn’t the ability to think, and indeed it wouldn’t have such an ability, because it is a system that needs to act as fast as possible. Thus, there is no time for there to be any processing of conscious thoughts, simply knee-jerk reaction.

The Solution Goes Hand in Hand With the Problem

Acting in an unconscious manner in difficult scenarios seems unavoidable, but now that you know the source of the problem, the answer is hitched along with it. The best way to deal with guilt and remorse is to avoid it in the first place.
Here are three steps to take to prevent a reptilian brain-induced loss of control that leads to guilt after the fact:

1.Breathe
And breath deep. The reaction, fight-or-flight system causes an arousal in the body, because you feel as though your well-being and/or your world view is under attack, or that you are about to lose something important to you, like a boyfriend or girlfriend, for example. The breath becomes shallow and quick. To counteract that, breathe deep and slow, which enacts the relaxation response in the body.

2. Observe your thoughts.
The reptilian brain doesn’t think, so when you think and try to understand what is really going on, it takes away control from the knee-jerk reaction section of the brain. This ability improves with practice, as with most anything else.

3. Forgive.
To err is human, to forgive divine. This step is more applicable after the fact. Forgiving not only is directed at other people who have done us wrong, but also directed at ourselves. Letting ourselves get taken away by emotion is something that is not easy to control. After an altercation in which you’ve done or said something regretful, realize that it was something that took you away for a moment, and work on moving away from dwelling in its wake.

San Francisco Schools Transformed by the Power of Meditation | NBC News

San Francisco students meditating in class – Image via We Are Change

Original story via NBC News:

Silence isn’t something people usually associate with middle school, but twice a day the halls of Visitacion Valley School in San Francisco fall quiet as the sixth, seventh and eighth grade students meditate for fifteen minutes.

And school administrators tell NBC News that the violence outside of the school, which is situated in one of San Francisco’s poorest neighborhoods, was spilling into the school and affecting the students’ demeanor.

“The kids see guns on a daily basis,” the school’s athletic director, Barry O’Driscoll said, adding, “there would be fights here three-to-five times a week.” Continue reading

Acupunture: From Quack Science to Proven Medical Treatment – Natural News

(via NaturalNews.com)

(NaturalNews) There are many alternative treatments that have been considered (and still are) as quack medicine by the all-seeing and all-knowing conventional medical model. However, as science and results began to prove their legitimacy, conventional wisdom was forced to acknowledge their efficacy. Acupuncture needles are one of those treatments that have gone from quack science to proven medical device, and scores of people are now experiencing its benefits.

How acupuncture works

In the 1960s, Professor Kim Bong Han and researchers in Korea attempted to prove the existence of meridians in the human body using microdissection techniques. They found evidence of an independent series of fine, duct-like tubes corresponding to the paths of traditional acupuncture meridians.

Fluids in this system sometimes flowed in the same direction as blood and lymph, but also traveled the opposite direction at other times. They realized that these ducts are different from the vascular and lymphatic systems that Western medicine had identified, and that meridians themselves might exist within them.

This meridian system was further validated by a French researcher, Pierre de Vernejoul, who injected radioactive isotopes into the acupoints of humans and tracked their movement with a gamma imaging camera. These isotopes traveled 12 inches along the acupuncture meridians within four to six minutes.

Vernejoul then challenged his work by injecting isotopes into blood vessels in random areas of the body rather than acupoints, and found that they did not travel in the same way at all, illustrating that meridians do contain a system of separate pathways within the body. …
